The Joint issue of India and Mexico was released to celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.In 1947, Mexico became the first Latin American nation to recognize the independence of India from the United Kingdom. On first 1 August 1950, both nations established diplomatic relations.
Hence to commemorate the relations between the two countries both India and Mexico issued stamps depicting the Kalbelia dance of Rajasthan, India and Jarabe Tapatio, National dance of Mexico.
The Mexican stamps come with the denomination of $7 where as the stamps issued by India come in the denomination of Rs.20.
